ULM Ready to Hold 18th National Student Quran Recitation Competition (MTQMN), Welcoming 1,500 Participants from Across Indonesia
Banjarmasin – The 2025 18th National Student Quran Recitation Competition (MTQMN) at Lambung Mangkurat University is just days away. This national competition will take place from October 6–9, 2025, at the ULM Banjarmasin and Banjarbaru campuses.
With the theme “MTQMN as a Strengthener of Students’ Quranic Character, Contributing to a Golden Indonesia,” this event is organized under the coordination of the Directorate General of Learning and Student Affairs, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology.
The 18th MTQMN will be attended by approximately 1,500 participants from various universities across Indonesia. This prestigious event aims to improve the quality of Quran reading, memorization, and understanding among students, while strengthening Islamic brotherhood and fostering a spirit of nationalism.
The ULM Rector emphasized that this trust demonstrates ULM’s active role in supporting the character development of the younger generation. “As host, ULM is committed to providing a quality event, not only in terms of competition, but also in terms of the values of brotherhood and students’ real contributions to the nation,” he said.
The 18th MTQMN (National Qualifications and Religious Education) participants will arrive starting October 4, 2025. The Opening and Closing Ceremonies will be held at the ULM Banjarbaru Auditorium, while various competition branches will be spread across several representative ULM buildings, such as the Banjarmasin Multipurpose Hall, the Faculty of Economics and Business Lecture Theater Building, the ULM General Building, and the ULM Student Association (SAC). In addition to the main competition, the event will also feature a Tabligh Akbar (Grand Religious Service) and a bazaar at the ULM Banjarmasin Open Space, as well as a National Al-Quran Seminar at the Pancasila Building.
Through the 18th MTQMN, ULM, together with the Ministry, hopes to strengthen the Quranic character of students, thus producing a generation with noble morals, excelling in knowledge, and capable of making positive contributions to national development towards a Golden Indonesia.
