BANJARBARU – The excitement of Lambung Mangkurat University’s (ULM) 67th Anniversary erupted within the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) of ULM Banjarbaru on Sunday (September 21, 2025). The spirit of togetherness and various positive activities were held during the Anniversary, attended by the entire ULM academic community. Carrying the theme “Rise, Strength, Excellence,” the Lambung Mangkurat University Anniversary activities were officially opened by ULM Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, M.Si., who in his remarks emphasized the importance of collaboration and innovation for the university’s progress.
The main series of activities began with the Rector’s send-off of the Fun Run participants. A total of 261 participants from various elements of the academic community, ranging from lecturers and students to educational staff, enthusiastically participated in the run. The men’s Fun Run was won by Muhammad Rabbani (a student from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Muhammadiyah Malang) as the first place winner. Yuli Dwi Pertama (a student from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Muhammadiyah Malang) and Beni Acah Yekwam (a student from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences) took second and third place, respectively. The women’s category was won by Putri Dwi Yani (a student from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences) as the first place winner. Aulia Putri (a student from the Faculty of Economics and Business) and Mei Helmawati (a student from the Faculty of Forestry) followed in second and third place, respectively.
Besides the Fun Run, the Fun Walk, held on the campus of Lambung Mangkurat University in Banjarbaru, was attended by hundreds of participants, including students, lecturers, educational staff, children, and seniors. It served as a platform for strengthening ties within the Lambung Mangkurat University community.
The excitement of the event culminated in a gymnastics competition, which featured eight groups representing the faculties. This gymnastics competition required precise movements and teamwork from each group. Each group was required to imitate all the movements of the gymnastics instructor. The judges evaluated the accuracy, cohesiveness, and enthusiasm demonstrated by each participant. The JPOK FKIP BERSINERGI group from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education won first place in this competition. The MIPA Bungas team from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences and the Macan (Sweet and Beautiful) team from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences followed in second and third place, respectively.
As a demonstration of ULM’s commitment to the health of its entire academic community and the surrounding community, ULM collaborated with Lambung Mangkurat Medical Center (LMMC) to provide free health check-ups and consultations. These check-ups included blood pressure, blood sugar, uric acid, and cholesterol. This activity was warmly received by all participants at ULM’s 67th Anniversary celebration in Banjarbaru. The participants’ enthusiasm for taking advantage of these free check-ups demonstrated the high level of awareness of the importance of health among the entire ULM academic community and the surrounding community.
A coffee seedling planting event was also held during this celebration. As part of Lambung Mangkurat University’s commitment to greening its campus, hundreds of coffee seedlings were planted in the courtyard of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences in Banjarbaru. These Robusta coffee seedlings were planted as an effort to improve food security for the campus and the Banjarbaru community. The hope is that the vacant land within the ULM environment can be optimally utilized.
The excitement of ULM’s 67th Anniversary, held at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences on the Banjarbaru Campus, also accommodated MSMEs from both within and outside Lambung Mangkurat University. This activity demonstrated that Lambung Mangkurat University is not only a center of education but also a driver of positive activities that benefit the surrounding community and environment. It is hoped that this activity will become an annual tradition that continues to inspire and strengthen ties among the entire Lambung Mangkurat University academic community. (M.
