ULM’s Anniversary Highlights: Rector Closes Speech with Recitation of Sholawat
Banjarbaru – The Senate Meeting of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) culminated in the 67th Anniversary celebrations held at the Banjarbaru Auditorium on Monday (September 22, 2025). Thousands of academics and strategic partners attended, witnessing a moment of reflection and gratitude for the institution’s achievements.
There was something different about this year’s ULM Anniversary. ULM Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, SE., M.Si., concluded his speech with a recitation of prayer as a form of gratitude for ULM’s various achievements to date and for its continued resilience and ability to become a leading university.
“Although ULM’s accreditation was once downgraded to good, within seven months, thanks to the support of all academics and stakeholders, ULM successfully rose from Good (C) to Excellent accreditation,” said the Rector in his speech.
In his speech, the Rector outlined the achievements that marked ULM’s revival momentum in 2025, including its ranking as the 15th best university in Indonesia (Ad Scientific Index), its ranking among 1,847 world universities (EduRank), and its achievement of the highest SINTA score in Kalimantan.
At this moment, the Rector expressed his gratitude to the entire academic community and partners who have helped and supported ULM.
“We ask for your prayers and support so that ULM can continue to improve itself. The assistance provided to ULM is one of the elements that strengthens ULM’s rise and excellence,” the Rector stated enthusiastically.
The culmination of the 67th Anniversary was attended by thousands of ULM academics, including students, lecturers, staff, and families of former ULM leaders. Also in attendance were invitees from ULM’s partners, including national institutions, the South Kalimantan Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda Kalsel), and representatives from the Regents and Mayors of South Kalimantan. On this occasion, ULM presented certificates of appreciation to its partners, including those from the media, local governments, and industry.
ULM’s anniversary also featured the presence of the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries during the Gotong Royong Cabinet, Prof. Dr. Ir. Rokhmin Dahuri, MS., to deliver a scientific speech.
“We congratulate ULM on its achievement in the AD science indexing. In a competitive world, we must be equipped with intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual skills. These four intelligences will lead us to success,” said Prof. Rokhmin in his opening speech.
At ULM’s 67th anniversary, this demonstrates its maturity. The journey has been neither short nor illustrious. Therefore, the ULM Rector invited all attendees to join in expressing gratitude for all the achievements made by continuing to dedicate ULM to the nation and state.
