ULM Inaugurates 6,540 New Students at the 2025 New Student Admissions Program
Banjarbaru – Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) officially inaugurated 6,540 new students through the 2025 Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) event, which took place over three days, August 11–13, 2025.
The opening of the PKKMB was held in the ULM Banjarbaru Auditorium with a festive atmosphere. Thousands of new students, from both the Banjarmasin and Banjarbaru campuses, attended alternately based on odd and even student ID numbers (NIM). Students not in the auditorium participated via Zoom Meeting in their respective faculties.
The event opened with the singing of Indonesia Raya, the ULM March, recitation of verses from the Quran, and prayers. All ULM leaders, including the Rector, Vice Rectors, Senate Leaders, Deans, and Bureau Heads, were present to deliver remarks and introduce themselves to the new students.
ULM Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmad, S.E., M.Sc., in his speech, stated that the newly inaugurated students consisted of 3,810 students from the Banjarmasin campus, 2,678 students from the Banjarbaru campus, and 52 students from Off-Campus Study Programs (PSDKU).
“This PKKMB is the first step in developing the character of ULM students who are superior, possess integrity, and are ready to compete at the national and global levels,” he said.
The first two days of PKKMB will include an introduction to ULM’s development policies and strategies, an introduction to academic support units, and academic and financial policies within the student environment. On the second and third days, new students will be introduced to various student activity units (UKM) as a forum for developing interests, talents, and leadership.
This activity demonstrates ULM’s commitment to providing comprehensive initial preparation for new students, preparing them to embark on their academic journey while simultaneously contributing positively to society.
