Instilling Integrity: ULM and OJK Collaboration in the Student Integrity Campaign
Banjarmasin – Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) has demonstrated its commitment to instilling integrity values among students through strategic collaboration with the Financial Services Authority (OJK). This collaboration was realized in the Student Integrity Campaign (In Camp) activity held on the ULM campus on Monday (6/16/2025), with the theme “Together with OJK, Build a Clean and Integrity-based Financial World.”
This activity was enthusiastically attended by 440 students offline and 420 students online, making it a collective learning space that discussed the importance of governance and ethics in the financial sector.
The Chairperson of the OJK Audit Board, Sophia Wattimena, in her presentation emphasized that this activity is part of the Governance Roadshow carried out by OJK nationally to build public awareness, especially the younger generation, about the importance of good and transparent financial governance.
“We are not only talking about the supervisory function, but also how internal audit can be a tool for improvement and solution provider through a consultative approach,” explained Sophia.
Sophia added that strengthening the financial sector’s supervisory system is becoming increasingly important amidst increasingly complex technological and social challenges. Risks such as fraud and cyber attacks in the financial services sector continue to increase, so adaptive and integrity-based governance needs to be understood early on.
“In the development of technologies such as AI and machine learning, the governance aspect must still be considered,” she added.
The Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business ULM, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Yunani, M.Si, welcomed this activity and expressed his appreciation for the presence of OJK on campus.
“We hope that ULM students can internalize the values of integrity, not only in the academic environment, but also in social and professional life,” he said.
This In Camp activity also presented the OJK Governance Level Ethics Committee, Prof. Niki Lukviarman, and the Head of the OJK of South Kalimantan Province, Agus Maiyo, who provided a comprehensive view of strengthening governance in the Indonesian financial services sector.
Through an inclusive and dialogical educational approach, this activity is an important step for ULM in preparing students as agents of change, who are not only intellectually capable, but also uphold the values of ethics, accountability, and transparency in facing the dynamic professional world.
