Singapore — Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) took part in the EduData Summit 2025 with the theme “Connecting EduData: Aligning Data Science, Skills and Innovation” at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Center, Singapore, on 4–5 June 2025. The ULM delegation was led directly by ULM Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Sc., accompanied by Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni Dr. Muhammad Rusmin Nuryadin, S.E., M.Sc., Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Public Relations Dr. Ir. Yusuf Azis, M.Sc., and Chairperson of Lambung Mangkurat Reputation Management (LMRM), Dr. Mutiani, M.Pd.

EduData Summit 2025 is an important meeting place for university leaders, researchers, and education policy makers from various countries. This event is organized by the American University of The Middle East (AUM) as the host.

This event was attended by various higher education institutions around the world. A number of well-known institutions such as Macau University of Science and Technology, INTI University, Dubai University, and other universities. There were also several leading Indonesian campuses that attended, such as Hasanuddin University (Unhas), Yogyakarta State University (UNY), Jakarta State University (UNJ), and Indonesia Computer University (Unikom Bandung) also participated.

ULM’s presence in this international forum is part of the campus’s strategic efforts in building a global network, especially in the fields of educational data management (edudata), data science, and institutional development innovation.

“We want to dig deeper into how the QS Ranking impacts the direction and strategy of institutional development, as well as what global challenges are faced by universities in achieving international standards,” said Dr. Mutiani, Chair of LMRM ULM.

The EduData Summit is not only a discussion forum, but also a place to network cross-country cooperation and broaden insights into global education market trends. This is in line with ULM’s commitment to pursuing World Class University (WCU) status, as measured by the QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) indicator.

Through this participation, ULM hopes to strengthen its institutional capacity in terms of:

  • Development of a data science-based edudata system,
  • Alignment of skills with global needs,
  • Utilization of data in institutional policy-making,
  • And improving academic reputation at the international level.

ULM’s presence in international forums such as the EduData Summit is part of a concrete step to build the global competitiveness of the campus in order to encourage ULM to become a World Class University. ULM strives not only to be known at the national level, but also to be able to appear on the world higher education map. Through data and innovation, ULM strengthens ULM’s reputation and contribution in responding to global challenges.

ULM will follow up on the results of this meeting by formulating an international cooperation strategy, strengthening the institutional data system, and adjusting the institution’s performance indicators in line with global standards. The collaboration built at the EduData Summit is also expected to open up opportunities for international internships, academic exchanges, and improving the quality of human resources.

“Hopefully this participation will be the starting point for ULM’s acceleration towards a world-class university that is relevant, adaptive, and highly competitive,” concluded Dr. Mutiani.
