Lambung Mangkurat University to Host the XVIII National Student MTQ 2025
Banjarmasin – Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) is honored and proud to be trusted as the host of the XVIII National Student Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an (MTQMN) 2025. As a prestigious national competition, MTQMN is not only a place for students to hone their skills in the art of reading the Qur’an and various other branches, but also an important momentum in building a young generation that excels intellectually, spiritually, and emotionally.
“As the host, ULM is committed to providing the best service in organizing the XVIII MTQMN, with adequate facilities and a conducive academic and spiritual atmosphere for the participants,” said Rector Prof. Dr. H. Ahmad Alim Bachri, SE., M.Si.
The Chancellor also added that with full support from various parties, including the government, Forkopimda and the academic community, ULM hopes that this event will not only be a dignified competition but also a momentum to strengthen national and Islamic values in the lives of students. The trust as a host is a great mandate, and ULM is ready to make it a real contribution in forming a Quranic generation with broad insight and ready to build the future of the nation.
The implementation of this year’s MTQMN is organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, with the aim of supporting the development of student achievements, implementing the Impact Campus concept, and fostering Quranic character for Indonesian students. In addition, as part of the selection of the best participants, the XVIII MTQMN will go through a Pre-National selection stage, which aims to recruit students from various universities before competing at the national level on October 6-9, 2025 at Lambung Mangkurat University, Banjarmasin.
The theme of this year’s MTQMN XVIII, “MTQMN as a Strengthener of Students’ Quranic Character that Impacts Towards a Golden Indonesia,” reflects the nation’s grand vision in welcoming the Golden Indonesia 2045 era where Indonesia is expected to become an advanced, prosperous, and civilized country. Students, as the nation’s next generation, have a crucial role in realizing this ideal.
The XVIII MTQMN is more than just a competition—it is a space for students to develop their love for the Quran, improve their understanding and practice of its values, and strengthen the Quranic character that has a broad impact on society. As part of the development of quality human resources, MTQMN is expected to produce a young generation with noble morals, national insight, and real contributions to national development.
