IKA Fahutan ULM Alumni UMKM Community, Real Steps to Strengthen the People’s Economy

Banjarbaru – The Alumni Association of the Faculty of Forestry, Lambung Mangkurat University (IKA Fahutan ULM) has officially formed an alumni UMKM community as a strategic step to build a strong, collaborative, and sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Dean of the Faculty of Forestry ULM, Prof. Kissinger, said that this initiative was born from the awareness of the great potential of alumni who are not only engaged in the forestry sector, but have also proven their role as micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM) in various sectors.

“We believe that from this small community a large movement will grow that is able to strengthen the position of alumni, not only as forestry professionals, but also as drivers of the nation’s economy. All are still based on local wisdom and environmental sustainability,” said Prof. Kissinger in Banjarbaru, Monday.

This community is designed as a forum for synergy between alumni and business actors. In addition to encouraging joint promotion, this program also includes training, partnerships, coaching, as well as access to information and market networks. IKA Fahutan hopes that this step will be a catalyst for the birth of more independent entrepreneurs from among alumni.

IKA Fahutan ULM, which is currently chaired by Muhammad Helmi, has more than 600 active alumni spread throughout Indonesia. Most of them are directly involved in the business world, both micro and medium scale, with an orientation towards local and environmentally friendly products.

“The spirit of collaboration is key. This community not only opens up economic opportunities, but also strengthens the alumni network that supports each other,” added Prof. Kissinger.

With this step, the Faculty of Forestry ULM together with IKA wants to create a people’s economic ecosystem that supports nature conservation while providing real contributions to regional development and community welfare.
