The Computer-Based Written Examination (UTBK) of the 2025 National Selection Based on Tests (SNBT) began at Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) on Wednesday (4/23/2025). The implementation of UTBK-SNBT 2025 at ULM is scheduled until next Wednesday (4/30/2025).
A total of 10,129 UTBK-SNBT participants at ULM took turns taking the exam which was divided into 16 sessions over 8 days, with each exam session consisting of around 680 participants. This exam was attended by participants who graduated from high school/vocational school/equivalent in 2023, 2024, and class XII students in 2025, as a requirement to enter State Universities (PTN).
There are a total of 160 questions that must be completed in 195 minutes by UTBK-SNBT 2025 test participants. A total of 90 questions are Scholastic Potential Test (TPS) questions and 70 questions are Literacy Test questions.
Quoted from the official SNPMB Kemendikbud page, this test tests the ability to understand and reason which is needed for someone to succeed in formal education, especially higher education.
These abilities usually develop through the learning process and experiences in school and outside of school. The scholastic potential test consists of four components, namely general reasoning, reading and writing comprehension, general knowledge and understanding, and quantitative knowledge. The general reasoning component then consists of three sub-components, namely inductive reasoning, deductive reasoning, and quantitative reasoning.
The Literacy Test is expressed as 3 (three), namely the Indonesian Language Literacy Test, the English Language Literacy Test, and Mathematical Reasoning. Literacy Test is a test that focuses on reading literacy or students’ ability to understand, use, and disseminate texts to achieve goals, develop knowledge, and potential.
The Mathematical Reasoning sub-component in the Literacy Test is shown to see whether they are able to solve mathematical problems in various contexts of the problem or not.
