Vina Yulia Anhar, MPH. as the Advisor of the Student Affairs and Alumni Unit of PSKM FKIK ULM said that the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences ULM has made thorough preparations for participating in the 3rd IPHO 2024 organized by AIPTKMI.
“We apply a quality cycle-based approach PPEPP, namely planning, implementation, evaluation, control, and improvement in providing assistance and coaching,” she said.
FKIK has set a target to improve the achievement of ULM students in the IPHO event, both through individual and team awards, by prioritizing innovation and creativity. Therefore, the university and faculty have designed various programs that not only provide motivation to students, but also provide recognition and appreciation for their achievements.
One of the strategic steps taken by FKIK is to include IPHO material in the curriculum as part of the coursework, so that students can be more focused and have enough time to prepare.
“In addition, students who achieve achievements will receive recognition in the form of course conversions, additional credits in the SKKM (Student Activity Credit System), and awards at the annual student appreciation event,” said Vina.
The faculty also organizes coaching involving experts in their fields, including lecturers, alumni, and a team of psychologists. Alumni who have participated in IPHO also provide motivation and share experiences with students.
Vina also said that moral and material support from leaders within ULM was also a factor in the success of student achievements in the 3rd IPHO 2024. This support creates a conducive environment for students to achieve achievements. The leadership also provides an inclusive budget policy to allow students to get facilities during coaching and competitions.
“These steps are designed to provide motivation as well as improve the spirit and competitive value of Lambung Mangkurat University graduates,” said Vina.
