Faculty of Law Makes History in Inauguration of 10 Professors

Banjarmasin – Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) has again increased the number of Professors at ULM. This is recognized as an extraordinary achievement throughout the history of ULM where the Rector of ULM Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri., S.E., M.Si simultaneously confirmed 10 professors from 1 faculty, namely the Faculty of Law. The Faculty of Law is also one of the faculties that contributes to increasing the number of Professors at ULM. This is certainly a breath of fresh air for ULM which progressively continues to increase the number of Professors in order to improve the quality of education.

“This is an achievement that should be appreciated by the leadership of the law faculty and all lecturers and other academic members of the Faculty of Law,” said the Rector.

ULM Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Si., said that professors are one of the spirits of universities, so that the more professors there are in universities, the more they meet higher qualification standards.

“We hope that by increasing the number of professors at ULM, we can continue to improve the quality of research and the tri dharma of other universities at ULM, so that ULM can compete at the international level,” he said in his speech.

Prof. Ahmad believes that this achievement is not the result of individual work alone, but rather the result of collaboration and synergy from various parties involved in the professor nomination process.

The activities carried out at the Faculty of Law on Wednesday (26/10/2023) resulted in a significant addition of around 48 Professors from various fields during the year, Prof. Ahmad holds the mandate of the position as Rector. From this inauguration, ULM officially has 116 Professors, which is the highest number of Professors in Kalimantan Regional Universities. The Rector of ULM hopes that the increase in the number of Professors can continue to be maintained.

“There is still time to achieve the target,” he added.

The growth in the number of professors at ULM is also expected to increase the number of new study programs, especially the doctoral program (S3), which now has 9 disciplines, namely Doctoral Degree in Agricultural Sciences, Doctoral Degree in Development Studies, Doctoral Degree in Environmental Science, Doctoral Degree in Medical Science, Doctoral Degree in Law, Doctoral Science Management, Doctoral Degree in Educational Administration, Doctoral Degree in Indonesian Language and Doctoral Degree in Social Sciences Education.

The 10 Professors of Law who were inaugurated at the ULM Senate open meeting were:

Prof Dr Ahmad Syaufi SH MH, scientific oration “Restorative-Retributive Justice Integration Model to Realize a Humane Criminal Justice System and Integrated Justice”.
Prof Dr Suprapto SH MH, scientific oration “Electronic Decision System Approach in Overcoming Fictitious Decision Problems”.
Prof Dr Rachmadi Usman SH MH, scientific oration “Strengthening Legal Protection for Users in Electronic Money Transactions as Digital Non-Cash Payment Instruments”.
Prof Dr Djoni Sumardi Gozali SH MHum, scientific oration “Dimensions of Agreement and Justice in Compensation for Taking Community Land for Public Interest”.
