ULM Welcomes Lemhannas RI Conducting Domestic Strategic Studies
Banjarmasin – University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) welcomed a visit from the Republic of Indonesia’s National Defense Institute (Lemhannas) on Tuesday (11/7/2023) at the Banjarmasin ULM Rectorate. The visit by Lemhannas RI was in the framework of the Domestic Strategic Study (SSDN) of the XXIV Short Education Program (PPSA) in South Kalimantan.
ULM Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Sc., directly welcomed the arrival of the Lemhannas RI group led by the Deputy Governor of Lemhannas RI, Lt. Gen. TNI Mohamad Sabrar Fadhilah. The Lemhannas RI group that came for this visit consisted of 20 participants and 7 assistants.
ULM was the first location visited by Lemhannas RI in the SSDN PPSA XXIV activities in South Kalimantan. In this case, the Rector of ULM stated that this activity was the result of the MoU that was carried out between ULM and Lemhannas RI last June.
Prof. Ahmad said that ULM has a strategic position that can be developed together with Lemhannas RI. In this case, in the future ULM will become a Bhinneka Tunggal Ika campus, namely a campus that embodies unity in diversity. “Currently ULM is one of the PTNs which is a favorite destination for students to study. This is one of the strategic points in future development.” said the Rector.
Domestic Strategic Study Activities (SSDN) conducted by Lemhannas RI is a learning method by conducting direct visits to regions (provinces and districts) both to regional governments, figures and other stakeholders, as well as superior objects or products from an area in Indonesia. This activity aims to increase national insight, get an overview of the condition of national resilience, and get to know more closely about the progress of national development in the provinces visited. “The choice of ULM as one of the strategic study objectives of Lemhannas RI is an honor,” said the Rector.
In this activity, the Rector of ULM gave an explanation regarding the current conditions and developments in education and teaching in South Kalimantan, especially the Tri Dharma of Higher Education activities carried out by ULM. The Rector hopes that through this visit Lemhannas RI can get to know more about the potentials of South Kalimantan and ULM in particular.
