ULM Ensures Equal Access for Participants with Disabilities in the 2026 UTBK-SNBT

Banjarmasin – Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) reaffirmed its commitment as an inclusive campus in the implementation of the 2026 Computer-Based Written Test for the National Test-Based Selection (UTBK-SNBT). On the second day of the exam, Wednesday (April 22, 2026), ULM specifically provided an exam session for participants with disabilities, with tailored support and assistance.

A total of five participants with disabilities took the UTBK-SNBT at ULM this year: two with physical disabilities, two with hearing impairments, and one with a speech impairment. This special session is part of ULM’s efforts to ensure equal access to higher education for all prospective students.

ULM’s Disability Coordinator, Dr. Utomo, explained that this year’s UTBK was designed to maintain independence for participants with disabilities.

“We assessed that the participants with disabilities registered this year were capable of working on their own, so the assistants were only on standby to assist when needed, especially with communication for deaf participants,” he said.

In its implementation, ULM also involved students as volunteer assistants who had been equipped with a basic understanding of the needs of participants with disabilities. The presence of these volunteers demonstrated the academic community’s participation in creating a friendly and supportive exam environment.

Previously, the 2026 UTBK-SNBT at ULM took place from April 21–29, 2026, with a total of 11,358 participants and 645 computers spread across 24 laboratories in nine locations. ULM also recorded 11,909 applicants choosing this campus, including 2,894 applicants from the KIP Kuliah scheme.

By providing this special session, ULM not only ensured a smooth selection process but also demonstrated its role as an educational institution that upholds the principles of equality and diversity.

This step is in line with ULM’s commitment to continue providing inclusive and impactful higher education, where every individual, without exception, has an equal opportunity to achieve a future through education.
