ULM Sends 60 Student Groups to Develop Impactful Villages
Banjarbaru – Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) held a briefing for the 2025 ULM Impactful Village Development Program, organized by the ULM Integrated Learning Mobility (MKBT) team at the ULM Banjarbaru Auditorium on Monday (November 24, 2025). This activity marked the first step in the departure of 733 students, grouped in 60 cross-faculty groups, with the goal of ensuring that each fostered village benefits from multidisciplinary expertise.
The briefing opened with a report from the Head of the MKBT Village Development Program, Dr. Indira Fitriliyani, S.Pi., M.Si., who emphasized that the MKBT serves as a means of mobilizing students to hone their collaboration and teamwork skills.
“Not everyone has this experience. Knowledge can be learned, but the ability to collaborate is the key to future success. Through this program, we hope students will have a real impact, in line with the Rector’s message that ULM should be present as a benefit to the community,” she said.
The Head of the ULM Bureau of Academic and Student Affairs (BAK), Nieke Rezeki Febriantie, S.E., M.M., also delivered remarks and expressed appreciation to the supervising lecturers and students. She stated that Bina Desa is a strategic program that directly contributes to the Key Performance Indicators (IKU) and strengthens the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.
“This program provides a space for students to apply their knowledge in real-world settings. Students are directly involved in the community, exploring needs and formulating solutions together. Maintain ULM’s good name and make this program a source of positive impact for the villages under their guidance,” she emphasized.
The briefing was then officially opened by Dr. Iwan Aflanie, dr., M.Kes., Sp.F., SH. In his remarks, he emphasized that Bina Desa serves as a bridge between campus theory and the real needs of the community.
“Integrity, competence, and social sensitivity are three values ​​consistently instilled by the campus. Through Bina Desa, students act as agents of change, not just bringing theory, but also providing effective communication, innovation, and truly impactful solutions,” he said.
He also encouraged students to learn from the community, uphold ULM’s reputation, and strengthen collaboration as key to the program’s success.
“Benefit from the community, collaborate, and make this experience an important part of your life’s journey,” he advised.
The briefing also featured several speakers from various stakeholders, including the community and local government, as a form of collaborative support in preparing students before being deployed to the assisted villages. By holding this activity, ULM reaffirmed its commitment to providing learning programs that are not only academic but also have a broad impact on the community and regional development.
