TANJUNG – Dozens of active students at Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) in Banjarmasin have officially received Tabalong Smart Youth Scholarships, awarded by the Tabalong Regency Government through the Youth, Sports, and Tourism Office (Disporapar). The scholarship recipients’ integrity pact was signed at the Dandung Suchrowardi Hall on Monday (November 10, 2025), witnessed by Tabalong Regent H. Muhammad Noor Rifani.

A total of 66 ULM students from 10 faculties and 24 study programs received these scholarships. They come from various fields of study, including accounting, development economics, law, communication science, medicine, psychology, engineering, and agriculture. The scholarships are awarded in the form of Single Tuition Fee (UKT) assistance and pocket money, distributed non-cash.

The Head of the Tabalong Youth and Sports Agency (Disporapar), H. Zulfan Noor, explained that the scholarships are part of the regional government’s efforts to support the higher education of local students.

“Active students who receive scholarships will receive tuition fees (UKT) and pocket money. For ULM, there are a total of 66 students from various study programs,” he said.

The Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Dr. Rusmin Nuryadin, was present, along with the Vice Rector for Cooperation, Public Relations, and Information Systems, and signed an integrity pact with the scholarship recipients and Disporapar. ULM’s presence affirmed the university’s commitment to supporting students in accessing higher education in an inclusive and sustainable manner.

Tabalong Regent H. Muhammad Noor Rifani stated that the Tabalong Smart program is one of the regional government’s priority programs to improve the quality of human resources.

“Today is an important moment. You have been selected as scholarship recipients in the first year of this program. Take advantage of this opportunity to complete your studies successfully,” he said.

He also reminded the students to uphold the trust placed in them by the government and their parents.

“This opportunity doesn’t come twice. Prove that you are worthy of trust and capable of fulfilling this mandate to the best of your ability,” he said.

Through ULM’s active involvement in student mentoring and verification, this scholarship program is expected to encourage improvements in the quality of higher education while strengthening ULM’s contribution to producing a superior, competitive young generation in Tabalong, ready to contribute to regional development.
