To Enhance Food Supervision Synergy, Vice Rector IV of ULM Receives an Audience with the Director of the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) as part of the “Sapa Kampus” Program
Banjarmasin – Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) hosted an audience visit from the Indonesian Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) as part of the “Sapa Kampus” program. The visit was officially received by ULM’s Vice Rector IV for Planning, Cooperation, and Public Relations, Dr. Ir. Yusuf Aziz, M.Sc., accompanied by the Head of Bureau, the Coordinator of Cooperation and Public Relations, the Vice Dean, and lecturers from ULM on Friday (October 24, 2025).
The BPOM delegation was led by the Director of Community Empowerment and Processed Food Business Actors, Agus Yudi Prayudana, S.Farm., Apt., M.M. The meeting was warm and filled with constructive discussion.
During the audience, Agus Yudi Prayudana explained that the “Sapa Kampus” program is a BPOM initiative to build and strengthen synergy with the academic world. The goal is to increase public literacy and awareness, as well as empower processed food business actors regarding the importance of food safety, quality, and nutrition.
“Higher education institutions, particularly ULM, have a strategic role as centers of knowledge and agents of change. We hope to collaborate with ULM in education, research, and community service related to drug and food supervision,” said Agus.
In response, ULM Vice Rector IV, Dr. Ir. Yusuf Aziz, M.Sc., welcomed the BPOM initiative. He emphasized ULM’s readiness to support BPOM programs, especially those that align with the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.
“ULM is ready to collaborate. We have many experts in related faculties, such as Pharmacy, Medicine, Agriculture, and Mathematics and Natural Sciences, who can actively contribute. This collaboration can be realized through thematic KKN programs, joint research, or the Impactful Higher Education Science and Technology program,” explained Dr. Yusuf Aziz.
This meeting is expected to be the first step towards more concrete cooperation between ULM and BPOM. This synergy is believed to strengthen the processed food supervision system in the region, particularly in South Kalimantan, while simultaneously protecting public health and increasing the competitiveness of local food MSMEs.
