Strengthening Synergy Between Academics and Industry, ULM Signs MoU with PT Putra Bangun Banua Julong Group

Banjarmasin – Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) has officially established a strategic partnership with a leading business entity, PT Putra Bangun Banua Julong Group. This commitment to cooperation was formalized in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) solemnly held in the Wasaka I Hall, 2nd Floor of the ULM Rectorate Building, Banjarmasin, on Friday (October 24, 2025).
The MoU signing was conducted by Vice Rector IV Dr. Ir. Yusuf Azis, M.Sc., and Vice General Manager of PT Putra Bangun Banua Julong Group Rahmad Ade H., witnessed by the Head of the BPKH (Education and Training Agency), the Coordinator of Cooperation and Public Relations, staff, and HRD from PT Putra Bangun Banua Julong Group.
This collaboration aims to synergize ULM’s academic potential with the practical needs of the business and industrial world (DUDI) operated by PT Putra Bangun Banua Julong Group.
In his remarks, Dr. Yusuf Azis stated that this collaboration is an important step in implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education and strengthening the Impactful Higher Education Science and Technology program.
“This MoU serves as a legal framework for us to collaborate more closely. We hope that ULM students will have greater opportunities for internships, joint research, or direct guidance from practitioners from PT Putra Bangun Banua Julong Group,” he said.
He added that ULM, as a leading university in Kalimantan, is ready to contribute through research and the provision of superior human resources to support industrial progress in the region.
Meanwhile, the Vice General Manager of PT Putra Bangun Banua Julong Group welcomed this collaborative initiative. He sees ULM as a strategic partner in developing innovation and absorbing a quality workforce.
“We in the industrial world desperately need new talent who are work-ready and innovative. We believe this collaboration with ULM will be mutually beneficial; we gain academic insight and the best human resources, while students gain real industry exposure,” he said.
The agreed scope of cooperation covers education, research, community service, and competency development programs.
With the signing of this MoU, both parties hope to immediately realize concrete programs through a more technical Cooperation Agreement (MoA) at the faculty and related work unit levels.
