Bali – The Directorate of Public Communications, Directorate General of Public Communication and Media, Ministry of Communication and Digital, Republic of Indonesia, held a Government Communication Strategy Development Workshop on Thursday (October 9, 2025) at the Aryaduta Hotel, Bali.

The event, which began at 8:30 a.m. WITA (Central Indonesian Time), featured experienced speakers in the field of public communications, namely Ignatius Untung Sumarsono (Head of the Government Strategic Communication Planning Team) and Fardila Astari (Public Relations Practitioner). The workshop also opened with remarks by Ir. Gede Pramana, S.T., M.T., Head of the Bali Provincial Communication, Informatics, and Statistics Office.

“We all share the same concern and passion for making government communications more effective, creative, and closer to the public. In this era of rapid and open information, the challenges of government communications are increasingly complex,” said Ir. Gede Pramana in his remarks.

He stated that Public Relations is not only required to convey messages, but also to ensure that those messages are understood, believed, and responded positively by the public. Therefore, government communication activities are not merely publications, but rather a crucial part of transparent, participatory, and adaptive governance that adapts to public dynamics.

This workshop serves as a strategic platform to strengthen synergy between the central and regional governments, as well as between other public institutions, in building inclusive and data-driven communication. One active participant in this activity was the Public Relations Team of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM), who attended to broaden their knowledge and strengthen the role of university public relations in supporting the dissemination of policies and public information.

The participation of the ULM Public Relations Team demonstrates the higher education institution’s commitment to supporting the government’s efforts to strengthen transparent, participatory, and adaptive communication strategies in the digital era.

This event is open to the public and can be attended online via Zoom and broadcast live on the DJKPM channel. Participants will also receive a free e-certificate.
