Banjarmasin-The Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) held a series of Womenship Bootcamp 2025 activities focusing on mental health and women’s self-development. The event culminated on Monday (September 8, 2025) at the multipurpose building on the ULM Banjarmasin campus.

The Womenship Bootcamp, themed “Glow Up & Speak Up: Women, Confidence, and the Celebration of Self,” featured a diverse agenda starting September 6, 2025. Activities included mental health seminars, public speaking workshops, beauty classes, art performances, and a bazaar for MSMEs.

The Chairperson of the Executive Board, Kurnia Putri, explained that this program was designed to raise awareness of the importance of maintaining women’s mental health.

“Through seminars, workshops, and beauty classes, we want women to have the courage, soft skills, and self-confidence to develop further,” she said.

Ridho, the Head of the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of the  Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM), echoed this sentiment. He emphasized that the establishment of the Women’s Empowerment Department under his leadership is a strategic step for ULM in promoting gender equality on campus.

“We hope this department and its programs will become the foundation for women at FISIP and ULM to have a proper space to express themselves and have a voice. There should be no more inequality; everyone has the same rights,” he emphasized.

The culminating event was lively, featuring a beauty talk show, a makeup class with Wardah, and a hands-on practice session, which was enthusiastically attended by participants. Furthermore, the closing event also featured dance, monologue, poetry, and musical drama performances by FISIP students and the Democratic Arts Studio (SSD).

Praise came from the business world, including Monica Banjarsari, an entrepreneur from South Kalimantan and a sponsor representative. She considered the Womenship Bootcamp an important platform for women to develop.

“This activity not only provides a space for expression, but also serves as a platform for self-improvement. The benefits are tangible in improving the quality of women,” she said.

This activity shows that ULM, through its student organizations, continues to demonstrate its role as a university that not only focuses on academic aspects, but also cares about women’s empowerment, mental health, and gender equality within the campus and community.
