Rector Sends Off Student Delegation to the International Quran Recitation Competition (MTQ) at Syiah Kuala University
Banjarmasin – Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) has once again demonstrated its full support for the development of student talent and achievement by sending a ULM delegation to participate in the International Quran Recitation Competition (MTQ) to be held at Syiah Kuala University on September 14–15, 2025.
In this prestigious event, which will feature participants from various countries, ULM sent five of its best students to compete in four categories and successfully advance to the final round. They are:
- Siti Rofi’ah (Female Qira’at)
- Aqilah Shofia (Female 20 Juz Quran Recitation)
- Gusti Aisyah Noor Khalisha (Female Tilawah)
- Alya Syawalita Putri (English Debate)
- Nurhaliza Ramadhaniah (English Debate)
The participants were accompanied by two supervising lecturers: Noor Ainah, S.Th.I. (Lecturer in Guidance and Counseling, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education) and Surjasni, S.H., M.H. (Lecturer in Faculty of Law).
Surjasni, S.H., M.H., as the participant’s mentor, stated that ULM continues to provide ample opportunities for students to develop their potential through various events, including this International MTQ.
“ULM provides ample opportunities for the community to showcase their talents, providing space, facilities, and various kinds of extraordinary support from university and faculty leaders,” she said.
Meanwhile, the ULM Rector hopes that all participants will perform optimally and bring home the best achievements.
“Hopefully, we will give our best, hopefully, we will come home with the championship. We will leave in good health and return in good health. We will give our best for our alma mater,” he said.
The participation of ULM students in this International MTQ is expected to achieve proud achievements and motivate other students to continue honing their talents and abilities on the national and international stage.
