ULM’s Mining Engineering Study Program Designs Strategic Collaboration Implementation Program with Datamine Software Indonesia
Banjarbaru – The Faculty of Engineering at Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Datamine Software Indonesia on Tuesday (July 23, 2025) at the ULM Faculty of Engineering Building in Banjarbaru.
The MoA signing was conducted by the Dean of the ULM Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ir. Iphan Fitrian Radam, S.T., M.T., IPU, and the Director of Datamine Software Indonesia, Bambang Ady Wibowo, and witnessed by Mining Engineering lecturers.
This collaboration focuses on supporting the Tri Dharma of Higher Education through the use of officially licensed mining software, specifically Minescape software used in coal mine design. In addition to licensing, Datamine will also conduct regular training for lecturers and students through the Datamine Goes to Campus program.
The Head of the Mining Engineering Study Program, Ir. Agus Triantoro, S.T., M.T., IPM., explained that this collaboration is a continuation of a previously suspended MoU, which has now been reactivated with a broader program scope.
“In addition to the ongoing Minescape training, we will also develop the use of other Datamine software for geology and mineral mining. This will significantly support students’ practical learning,” he said.
Limited access to the licensed software will be provided through the mine modeling studio at the ULM Faculty of Engineering, which is equipped with high-spec computers. This use will be conducted legally and professionally to support the development of the skills of students and lecturers within the Faculty of Engineering, particularly the Mining Engineering Study Program.
This collaboration is expected to increase the competitiveness of ULM Mining Engineering graduates in meeting the growing needs of the digital mining industry. Through technological support and direct training from industry partners, ULM affirms its commitment to producing reliable, professional, and work-ready mining human resources.
