IPB Rector Visits ULM in Order to Improve Management and Governance of BLU State Universities
Banjarmasin – In the context of “Strengthening BLU State Higher Education Governance Management for the Academic Community”, Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) presented the Rector of the Bogor Agricultural Institute IPB Prof. Dr. Arief Satria, S.P., M.Si on Thursday (26/10/2023). The Rector of IPB was present at the ULM General Building as a resource person where this event was attended by the entire ULM academic community starting from the Dean, Deputy Dean, Head of Study Program, lecturers, structural officials within the University, Faculty and all ULM educational staff.
The implementation of this activity was carried out considering that ULM now has the status of a Public Service Agency State University (PTN-BLU). Responding to the change in status of ULM from previously Working Unit to BLU certainly requires a strategy on how ULM can manage it in terms of income and utilization of assets owned. Therefore, the presence of the Chancellor of IPB as a resource person is expected to provide enlightenment in the process of transforming ULM from a work unit (satker) to a BLU by providing the experience that IPB has and has implemented.
The Rector of IPB stated that Kalimantan is a place with great potential in realizing Indonesia’s food sovereignty considering that there is quite a large area of land stretching across the island of Kalimantan.
“Everything starts from mindset,” he said.
In his material, Prof. Arief Satria said that natural resources and human resources will not be able to support the achievement of a target if they are not accompanied by the mindset of the human resources themselves.
“When the human resources owned by an organization are equipped with a strong mindset and determination, then all dreams and targets to be achieved will be easier to implement,” he stressed.
ULM Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, SE., M.Si., really appreciated this activity and at the same time thanked the Chancellor of IPB who gave his time to be able to participate in this event as a resource person.
Also on this occasion, the ULM academic community was given a clear overview of the management system at IPB and how IPB can manage its assets so that it can increase its income. The material presentation presented by the Rector of IPB was very interesting and provided extensive knowledge and insight. It is hoped that through holding this activity, the ULM academic community can reflect and imitate IPB’s success in terms of governance of BLU State Universities.
