ULM Impactful Campus: Student Admissions (PMB) Socialization Reaches 20+ Schools in Kotabaru and Tanah Bumbu
Kotabaru — Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) continues to expand access to higher education for the people of South Kalimantan through the Socialization and Promotion of New Student Admissions (PMB) for the 2026/2027 Academic Year for Study Programs Outside the Main Campus (PSDKU). This activity was held from Monday to Thursday, January 19–22, 2026, targeting senior high schools (SMA) and equivalents in Tanah Bumbu and Kotabaru Regencies.
The ULM PSDKU team visited more than 20 schools to provide information on the new student admission pathway, study programs offered, and opportunities for continuing higher education for students in coastal and island areas. This activity is part of ULM’s efforts to promote equitable access to education while creating a campus that has a direct impact on the community.
The ULM PSDKU socialization team reached schools throughout the Kotabaru archipelago, including Sebuku Island and Kerayaan Island. To reach Sebuku Island, the team crossed by ferry, while the team heading to Kerayaan Island traveled by wooden boat. The team was divided into groups to ensure optimal coverage of all target areas, including those with limited access to transportation and educational information.
Through this outreach activity, ULM provided comprehensive information regarding study opportunities at PSDKU, the registration mechanism, and the role of PSDKU as a university strategy in bringing higher education services closer to the local community. ULM’s PSDKU is expected to provide a solution for prospective students who have faced geographical and economic barriers to accessing higher education at the main campus.
Currently, ULM has officially opened new student registration for PSDKU in Kotabaru Regency. Three study programs are available for PSDKU Kotabaru: Agribusiness, Special Education, and Aquaculture.
This PSDKU PMB Socialization and Promotion activity also reflects Lambung Mangkurat University’s commitment to being an impactful campus, focusing not only on academic development but also on actively responding to the needs of the community and the region. By directly visiting schools, even in the outermost islands, ULM strives to ensure that higher education information is equally accessible to all students in South Kalimantan.
Going forward, Lambung Mangkurat University will continue to strengthen the role of PSDKU as the vanguard in expanding access and services to higher education in various regions in South Kalimantan. Furthermore, the PSDKU program also emphasizes ULM’s role in supporting the national agenda for regional development by improving the quality of competitive, intelligent, skilled, and innovative human resources.
