Banjar, February 12, 2026 – Group D of the 25th Class of Nursing Education Program at Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) successfully held a series of health education activities for the community of Sungai Asam Village on Thursday, February 12, 2026.

These activities focused on preventing seasonal diseases and ensuring balanced nutrition for children. The success of these activities was due to the guidance and supervision of Windy Yuliana Budianto, S.Kep., Ns., M.Biomed., as Academic Advisor, along with Nor Ella Dayani, S.Kep., Ns., as Field Supervisor from the Karang Intan 2 Community Health Center.

During these activities, the students not only provided the theory of ISI PIRINGKU (My Plate) but also demonstrated how to make Tilapia Carrot Tempeh Nuggets. This menu was introduced as a highly nutritious, economical meal solution that is popular with school-aged children and toddlers.

In addition to nutritional aspects, the participants, consisting of mothers of infants, toddlers, and school-aged children, were also taught how to treat minor respiratory problems in children. Students demonstrated eucalyptus oil steam inhalation therapy and chest physiotherapy, a simple technique to help thin and expel phlegm when children have a cough or cold.

This initiative was implemented in collaboration with Group D of Nursing Professional Education Program students, Class 25. The seven members are:

  • Muhammad Rizqan Alfitri Akbar, S.Kep.
  • Miftah Ghani, S.Kep.
  • Andi Zulvikarni, S.Kep.
  • Apipah, S.Kep.
  • Fitriati Noor, S.Kep.
  • Intan Dewi Masitah, S.Kep.
  • Muziati Hidayah, S.Kep.

“We hope that through this health education and demonstration, mothers in Sungai Asam Village will be more independent in providing simple treatments at home and more creative in serving healthy food to their children,” said Muhammad Rizqan Alfitri Akbar, S. Kep.

The activity, which took place at the Sinar Baru Integrated Health Post (Posyandu), received a warm welcome from residents. The active involvement of the Village Midwife and Posyandu cadres helped ensure that the health messages delivered were sustainable and implemented in daily parenting practices in the village.
