Banjarbaru – Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) has once again demonstrated its commitment to strengthening its contribution to public health through a strategic partnership between the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) and the South Kalimantan Provincial BKKBN Representative Office. This collaboration was marked by the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) on Thursday (December 4, 2025) in the Aberani Sulaiman Meeting Room, South Kalimantan Provincial Secretariat, Banjarbaru.

The collaboration encompasses strengthening education, training, research, and community service in the fields of population, family planning, reproductive health, and family development. Through this collaboration, ULM is expected to play an active role in supporting the implementation of the Bangga Kencana program, a national development priority.

FKIK of the University of Lampung emphasized that this partnership aligns with the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly in producing innovation and competent resources capable of addressing public health challenges. This collaboration also opens up opportunities for family empowerment, strengthening health cadres, and developing programs based on community needs. The Head of the South Kalimantan BKKBN Representative Office, Farah Adibah, expressed her appreciation for ULM’s commitment to supporting population programs.

“We hope this collaboration will be a concrete step in improving the quality of human resources and strengthening family development programs in South Kalimantan,” she said.

The BKKBN emphasized the importance of collaboration with universities as strategic partners in providing scientific research, technological innovation, and increasing the capacity of professionals in the field of reproductive health. The signing of this MoU also serves as a momentum to strengthen the relationship between academia and the government in efforts to accelerate stunting reduction and improve family welfare.

Through this collaboration, the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) of ULM and the South Kalimantan BKKBN are ready to develop various collaborative programs, ranging from health worker training, applied research, to strengthening public education. ULM hopes this synergy will have a positive and sustainable impact on health development and family quality in South Kalimantan.
