Banjarbaru, October 10, 2025 — The Aquaculture Student Association (HIMAKUA) of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) demonstrated its commitment to the development of the fisheries sector through the Tenoculture 7.0 2025 activity. In this activity, HIMAKUA conducted socialization on the importance of fisheries for the younger generation in supporting national food security.

The activity was held at the Mandiangin Fisheries Center and was attended by enthusiastic vocational high school students. Through this activity, HIMAKUA ULM aimed to introduce the field of aquaculture and the vast potential of the Indonesian fisheries sector, which has long been a leading sector in economic development and national food supply.

Siti Patimah, the person in charge of the activity, expressed her hope that this activity would serve as a means of education and motivation for the younger generation.

“We want to introduce the importance of the fisheries sector in our daily lives, especially in maintaining national food security. We hope that vocational high school students will become more familiar with and passionate about the world of fisheries,” said Siti Patimah.

The Vice Chair of Tenoculture, M. Daffa Raihan, emphasized the importance of a collaborative spirit and the role of students in making real contributions to society.

“This activity is not only about sharing knowledge, but also about fostering a spirit of contribution. We want to demonstrate that students have a vital role in promoting the fisheries sector as a potential and sustainable field,” Daffa stated.

The event was officially opened by Siswanto, S.Pi., M.P., the Advisory Lecturer of the Aquaculture Student Association. He stated that this activity is expected to provide a platform for student self-development and learning, while also benefiting the wider community.

“I really appreciate the students’ initiative in organizing an educational activity like this,” said Siswanto in his remarks.

In addition to the main presentation on the important role of the fisheries sector, the event also included interactive games and icebreakers, creating a lively and energetic atmosphere. The participants enthusiastically participated in the entire series of activities until the very end.

This activity is expected to be a first step for ULM Aquaculture students to continue inspiring the public, especially students, to become more aware of the importance of the fisheries sector in supporting sustainable food security.
