2025 ULM National Quran Recitation Competition (MTQMN): Preparations Reach 90 Percent, Campus Welcomes Nusantara Team
Banjarmasin – Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) has confirmed its readiness to host the 2025 National Student Quran Recitation Competition (MTQMN), which will take place from October 6–9, 2025. This prestigious event will attract approximately 1,500 participants from various universities across Indonesia.
The Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni of ULM, Dr. Rusmin Nuryadin, S.E., M.Si., stated that preparations have reached 90 percent completion.
“We are ready to welcome the entire team. The judging panel is scheduled to arrive on October 3th. There have been no significant obstacles due to the significant support from the committee, local government, and the private sector. This unity is the key to the success of the MTQMN at ULM,” he said.
Echoing this sentiment, the Head of the 2025 MTQMN Committee, Dr. Rusdi, M.Pd.I., emphasized ULM’s readiness to welcome participants and invited guests. “As stated by the Vice Rector, preparations are 90 percent complete. We hope to warmly welcome the approximately 1,500 participants, including the delegation, the panel of judges, and officials. We also want this MTQMN to be a forum to strengthen solidarity and Islamic brotherhood among students and university leaders,” he said.
In addition to the main competition that forms the core of MTQMN, ULM is also preparing various supporting activities, including national seminars, university leadership meetings, and an open bazaar that will run throughout the MTQMN.
As the oldest and largest state university in Kalimantan, ULM views the MTQMN as a strategic opportunity to demonstrate its organizational capacity, quality of service, and the campus’s distinctive spirit of togetherness. The full support provided by the South Kalimantan Provincial Government, various private sectors, and the community provides additional energy for ULM to ensure a smooth implementation.
The 2025 MTQMN at ULM is expected to not only be a competition for reading, writing, and understanding the Quran, but also a means of strengthening unity among Indonesian students, while also introducing the rich culture and hospitality of South Kalimantan to all guests and participants.
With preparations nearly complete and solid cross-stakeholder cooperation in place, ULM is optimistic about hosting a successful event, making history for the national-level student MTQ event.
