Student Organization Leadership and Management Workshop, Department of Sociology Education, FKIP ULM: Shaping Student Character and Professionalism
The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Lambung Mangkurat University through the Department of Sociology Education has successfully held a “Student Leadership and Organizational Management Basic Training Workshop” on September 14-16, 2025 in Loksado Village, Hulu Sungai Selatan.
This activity was intended for students and administrators of the Sociology Education Department Student Association (HIMA) to strengthen leadership capacity and student organization governance within the FKIP.
The event was officially opened by the Head of the Sociology Education Department, Dra. Hj. Rochgiyanti, M.Si., M.Pd., and featured speakers from academia, including Yandi Aulia Rahman, S.Pd., M.Si., Ria Fahrina, S.Pd. from SMAN 1 Barabai, and Mukhtar Fuaddi, S.Pd. from SMAN 2 Kandangan, an alumnus of the FKIP ULM Sociology Education Department.
During the workshop, participants received training in leadership, organizational management, and knowledge of the sociology of religion and politics relevant to the development needs of today’s students. Group discussions, mini-presentations, light outbound activities, and various simulations were held to support the character-building and managerial skills of students.
The event proceeded smoothly and saw active participation from all participants. It concluded with the hope that similar activities would continue as a strategic effort to improve the quality of student resources at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at ULM.
The leadership of the Sociology Education Department assessed that this workshop significantly contributed to strengthening the competency, solidarity, and professionalism of students as future leaders and motivators of student organizations within the FKIP academic environment at Lambung Mangkurat University.
