MARTAPURA – The PPK Ormawa Team from the IAAS Local Committee of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) continued its mentoring program in Mandiangin Timur Village, Karang Intan District. On Sunday (August 31, 2025), the activity focused on organizational management and leadership training for the Satria Muda Farmers’ Studio administrators.

ULM Faculty of Agriculture lecturer, Karimal Arum Shafriani, S.P., M.P., who served as the speaker, explained that an organization’s success is largely determined by its ability to manage its resources. Participants were taught how to develop work plans, divide tasks, develop joint regulations, and maintain teamwork.

“An organization will grow more easily if it can optimize its members, time, and available village potential. Furthermore, networking with external parties such as the Agricultural Extension Center, relevant agencies, and other institutions is also crucial to strengthening the position of the farmers’ studio,” she said.

The training was enthusiastically attended by residents and the administrators of the Satria Muda Farmers’ Studio. They not only listened to the material but also actively discussed strategies for developing the newly established organization.

Maryoto, the Head of the Farmers’ Studio, stated that the studio was established not just for the name, but to truly benefit the residents.

“We want more people to know about it and get involved. This farmers’ studio is a great opportunity to advance the village. Thank you to ULM for their assistance; I hope this collaboration will yield tangible results,” he said.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Sairi, the Head of Mandiangin Timur Village, considered this activity a new boost for his village. He is optimistic that the studio’s administrators will be able to carry out their duties well.

“Not many villages receive intensive mentoring like this. We hope the farmers’ studio can become a role model, especially in motivating youth groups to further village progress,” he said.

This training is part of a series of PPK Ormawa IAAS LC ULM programs that have been running for some time. Previously, residents were trained in oyster mushroom baglog production, and ongoing support will be provided, from developing work plans to implementing field programs. With this initiative, ULM hopes the Satria Muda Farmers’ Studio will develop into a driver of the village economy and a platform for the regeneration of young farmers in East Mandiangin.
