Day Two of ULM’s 2025 PKKMB: Equipping New Students with National Insight, Anti-Drugs, and Inspiration for Achievement
Banjarbaru – Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) continues to strengthen the character development of new students through the 2025 Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) series, which entered its second day on Tuesday, August 12, 2025.
The event, which took place at the ULM Banjarbaru Auditorium, featured speakers from various strategic agencies. Representatives from the South Kalimantan Regional Police presented material on the dangers of radicalism, terrorism, and drugs. Meanwhile, representatives from the Mulawarman Military Command 06 provided guidance on national defense, and the Financial Services Authority (OJK) presented material on financial literacy for new students.
After the lunch break, the session continued with presentations from inspirational figures from among ULM students and alumni. Nabila Regita Putri, a Psychology student at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK), who was selected as the winner of the 2025 LLDIKTI Regional Outstanding Student Selection (Pilmapres), shared tips for becoming an outstanding and talented student.
Motivation also came from Anandita Amelia, a Psychology alumna from FKIK, a silver medalist at the 2023 Student Creativity Week (PKM) in Bandung, an Indonesian Genre Ambassador, and a National Youth Pioneer in Education. Furthermore, M. Ridho Maulana, an alumnus of the Pharmacy Study Program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), who recently graduated on August 7 and held the titles of Putra Pariwisata Banjarmasin 2023 and Putra Pariwisata Kalsel 2023, also shared his successful experiences.
From the alumni ranks, Drs. M. Ary Achdiyani, MAP, a member of the ULM Alumni Association (IKA), presented a presentation on “Strengthening the WASAKA Character.” An inspiring message was also delivered through a video from Tara Erin, a 2012 alumna of the Faculty of Agriculture’s Agribusiness Study Program and now a content creator for TaraWoni TV.
“Welcome new students. Your journey has just begun, and every step here is an investment in your future. At ULM, you will be shaped into individuals ready to compete, innovate, and make a real contribution to society,” Tara said in her video.
The second day of the PKKMB concluded with the announcement of the winners of the cheerleading competition. The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) won first place, followed by the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) in second place, the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) in third place, the Faculty of Forestry (Fahutan) in fourth place, and the Faculty of Agriculture (Faperta) in fifth place.
With a combination of topics on nationalism, anti-drugs, and financial literacy, along with inspiration from outstanding students and alumni, ULM ensures that PKKMB is a comprehensive training platform for developing a superior and character-driven young generation.
