ULM Rector Attends Inauguration of Regional Secretary and 18 High-Ranking Officials of the South Kalimantan Provincial Government
South Kalimantan Governor Muhidin inaugurated the Regional Secretary of South Kalimantan Province, Muhammad Syarifuddin, at the Idham Chalid Building, Banjarbaru, on Monday, July 14, 2025. The inauguration of the South Kalimantan Provincial Secretary coincided with the inauguration and confirmation of 18 other high-ranking officials within the South Kalimantan Provincial Government.
The Rector of Lambung Mangkurat University, Prof. Dr. Ahmad, S.E., M.Sc., witnessed the inauguration of the South Kalimantan Provincial Secretary, along with the Principal Secretary of the State Civil Service Agency, Hj. Imas Sukmariah, S.Sos., MAP. Previously, the ULM Rector was one of the five members of the assessment team in the open selection for the Regional Secretary position held last April.
The selection team consisted of Roy Rizali Anwar as chairman and four other members: Imas Sukmariah (Principal Secretary of the National Civil Service Agency), Akmal Malik (Director General of Regional Autonomy, Ministry of Home Affairs), Prof. Ahmad Alim Bachri (Rector of ULM), and Prof. Mujibburrahman (Rector of UIN Antasari).
The Governor of South Kalimantan, H. Muhidin, emphasized the importance of integrity, honesty, and sincerity for the newly appointed officials in carrying out their duties. This message was conveyed during the inauguration and confirmation of 18 Primary High-Level Officials, including the definitive appointment of Muhammad Syarifuddin as Regional Secretary of South Kalimantan Province, which was held recently before the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) and 13 regional heads from across South Kalimantan or their representatives.
The Governor expressed his confidence in Muhammad Syarifuddin’s ability to carry out his duties as the highest bureaucratic leader within the South Kalimantan Provincial Government.
“I am confident that the new Regional Secretary is capable of becoming the ‘Commander of the Bureaucracy,’ because he has demonstrated excellent performance during his tenure as Acting Regional Secretary,” he said.
Muhidin urged all newly inaugurated officials not to procrastinate and to immediately carry out their duties in accordance with their new responsibilities.
“Get to work immediately. We will evaluate them within the next six months. If their performance is unsatisfactory, firm action will be taken,” he emphasized.
This inauguration is part of an effort to refresh the organizational structure and strengthen governance that is accountable and responsive to the needs of the people of South Kalimantan.
