Ilham Qolyubi, M. Pradipta Rahman, and Ghathfan Fakhrizal Win Taekwondo Selection at the South Kalimantan National Student Sports Week (POMNAS)

Banjarmasin – Students from Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) have once again demonstrated outstanding achievements at a regional-level sporting event. Three Taekwondo athletes from the ULM Faculty of Engineering won first place in the South Kalimantan National Student Sports Week (POMNAS) Selection held by Sari Mulia University in Banjarmasin on June 13-14, 2025.

This event was organized by the Indonesian Student Sports Supervisory Agency (BAPOMI) of South Kalimantan in preparation for the 19th POMNAS 2025 in Semarang, Central Java. A total of 33 students from various state and private universities across South Kalimantan participated in the selection in 10 Taekwondo competition classes.

The ULM students who successfully achieved top positions were:

• Muhammad Ilham Qolyubi (Civil Engineering) – First Place in the Men’s Kyorugi Under 63kg Class
• Muhammad Pradipta Rahman (Civil Engineering) – First Place in the Men’s Kyorugi Over 87kg Class
• Muhammad Ghathfan Fakhrizal (Civil Engineering) – First Place in the Men’s Kyorugi Under 58kg Class

The three will represent South Kalimantan at the 19th National Sports Week (POMNAS) in 2025, along with six other top athletes selected based on the selection results.

Also present was M Nur, a 2023 student from the Mechanical Engineering study program, who won second place in the Men’s Kyorugi Under 58kg class.

This event not only provided a platform to showcase their abilities but also demonstrated the institution’s commitment to fostering high-achieving sports on campus. The achievements of ULM students demonstrate the institution’s commitment to supporting the development of students’ non-academic potential, particularly in the field of martial arts.

With high fighting spirit and thorough preparation, ULM athletes are expected to be able to bring good name to South Kalimantan and the university in the upcoming national level competition.
