ULM’s Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) Helps Strengthen Regional Health Governance Through Collaboration with the HSS Regency Government and the Indonesian Ministry of Health
Hulu Sungai Selatan (HSS), July 1, 2025 – The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) demonstrated its active role in strengthening the regional health care system. This was demonstrated through FKIK ULM’s involvement in the Health Program Governance Assistance Workshop held in Kandangan, Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency.
This activity was the result of a collaboration between FKIK ULM, the HSS Health Office, and the Indonesian Ministry of Health through the Planning and Budget Bureau. The goal was to systematically and sustainably improve health management at the regional level.
The workshop was opened by the HSS Regional Secretary, Muhammad Noor, who expressed his appreciation for the presence of the speakers and ULM’s commitment to assisting in health sector governance.
“We warmly welcome all parties in Bumi Antaludin. This collaboration is important to strengthen the foundation of an effective health system that has a direct impact on the community,” he said.
He emphasized that issues in health program governance frequently arise in various regions, particularly from planning to implementation. Therefore, the mentoring provided by the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) of the Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) and the Indonesian Ministry of Health is crucial in providing data-driven and innovative solutions.
FKIK ULM’s involvement in this collaboration and activity aligns with the institution’s vision to contribute directly to public health development through strategic partnerships and applied research.
This workshop is expected to be the beginning of strengthening a more accountable, structured, and collaborative regional health system across sectors. Furthermore, this activity aligns with the development direction of Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency in realizing the SEMANGAT (Prosperous, Independent, Religious, Caring, and Technological) vision, while also creating healthy villages supported by evidence-based health governance and scientific collaboration.
