Two Prospective Dean Candidates for the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at ULM Present Their Vision and Mission

Banjarmasin – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) held an event to present its vision, mission, and work program by prospective dean candidates for the 2025–2029 term. The event, held on Thursday (July 3, 2025) at the FISIP ULM Building, was enthusiastically attended by the entire FISIP academic community.

Vice Rector IV, Dr. Ir. Yusuf Azis, M.Sc., who attended specifically to represent ULM Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmad, S.E., M.Si., paid close attention to the event. He also expressed his appreciation for the work of those who initiated the Dean election process. He expressed his hope that this democratic process would not lead to division but instead lead to the continued progress of FISIP.

“Whoever is elected will undoubtedly work together to bring FISIP to greater progress and development, leading to even greater progress in the future,” said Vice Rector IV of ULM.

On this occasion, two prospective dean candidates, Irwansyah, S.Sos., M.Si., and Dr. Taufik Arbain, S.Sos., M.Si., presented their strategic ideas for further advancing FISIP ULM and making it responsive to current developments. Each candidate outlined their respective flagship programs, emphasizing improving academic quality, strengthening research, and developing collaborations with various parties.

The event was also witnessed by the Chair of the FISIP Senate, Professors, Heads of Study Programs (Kaprodi), and lecturers within FISIP ULM. Their presence demonstrated their concrete support for the transparent and participatory campus democratic process in electing faculty leaders.

Overall, the presentation of the vision and mission proceeded smoothly and enthusiastically. Whoever is elected is expected to bring positive change and strengthen FISIP ULM’s position as one of the leading faculties in the field of social and political sciences in Indonesia.
