19 Years of MEP ULM: Togetherness, Collaboration, and Commitment to Quality Education
Banjarbaru – In order to commemorate its 19th anniversary, the Master of Development Economics (MEP) Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Lambung Mangkurat University (FEB ULM) held an Alumni, User, and Student Gathering event that was held in a warm and collaborative atmosphere.
The event took place at Bukit Bintang Resort, Banjarbaru, with the theme “Building Togetherness and Synergy for the Future.”
This event was not just a reunion event, but also served as a strategic forum to establish communication between alumni from different generations, active students, lecturers, and MEP graduate user partners.
Prof. Dr. Ahmad Yunani, M.Sc., Dean of FEB ULM, officially opened the event and expressed his appreciation for the participation of various parties in supporting the progress of the MEP Study Program.
“We hope that the synergy that is built today will become a strong foundation for the development of the institution, especially through the active role of alumni in supporting the quality of education and the competitiveness of graduates,” he said.
As a form of strengthening the alumni structure, this event also inaugurated the MEP FEB ULM Alumni Association which is expected to become a coordinating and supportive forum for the development of future study programs. The formation of this organization also marks MEP ULM’s commitment to establishing long-term, mutually beneficial relationships between the campus and its graduates.
The series of activities began with an outbound session aimed at building solidarity and cooperation between participants. Continued with a sharing session with several alumni who are now active in various strategic sectors. The alumni shared their experiences and insights on the importance of adaptive and collaborative skills in today’s work world.
The peak of the activity was a seminar entitled “Strengthening Alumni and Higher Education Synergy in Learning Transformation and Increasing Graduate Competitiveness.” In her presentation, Dr. Yulia Indrawati, SE., M.Si emphasized the importance of alumni involvement in the higher education process so that graduates are able to face global challenges flexibly and innovatively.
This activity was also used as part of a tracer study which is the basis for evaluating study programs in improving academic quality and accreditation. Data collected from alumni is used to adjust the curriculum to the needs of the job market and strengthen the competitiveness of MEP FEB ULM graduates.
With the spirit of togetherness that is created, the MEP FEB ULM Study Program hopes that this agenda can become an annual tradition, which not only strengthens emotional relationships between parties, but also encourages the realization of an inclusive and collaborative education ecosystem.
Through close collaboration between alumni, academics, and work partners, Lambung Mangkurat University affirms its commitment to producing superior graduates who are ready to make real contributions to regional and national development
