74 Graduates Take the Oath, ULM Inaugurates Class XXII Nurses
Banjarbaru – The Nursing Department of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) held the Oath-Taking ceremony for Class XXII Nurses solemnly in the FKIK Hall, Banjarbaru. A total of 74 students of the Nursing Profession Program were officially sworn in after completing a series of academic education and clinical practice.
The event carried the theme “Ocean’s Embrace: The Promise of Tomorrow” and was attended by ULM Vice Rector I Dr. dr. Iwan Aflanie, M.Kes., Sp.F., S.H., faculty leaders, lecturers, representatives of the Indonesian National Nurses Association (PPNI) professional organization, and the families of the graduates.
In his remarks, ULM Vice Rector I expressed his appreciation for the hard work and dedication of the graduates. He reminded that the nursing profession is not only about technical skills, but also requires integrity and high ethical commitment.
“The oath taken today is not just a ceremony, but a moral and professional commitment. You will all be the spearhead of health services, and the community has high hopes for the young Nurses who are graduates of ULM,” he said.
The procession began with the taking of the oath guided by PPNI, followed by the signing of the oath document and the pinning of the Nurse pin to each graduate. This moment is a symbol of graduation as well as confirmation of the graduates’ readiness to undergo professional nursing practice.
The atmosphere was emotional when one by one the graduates were called to the front. Not a few families who attended shed tears of pride seeing their children officially hold the title of Nurse. The event was also filled with remarks from the Dean of FKIK ULM, as well as the delivery of impressions and messages from student representatives.
Through this oath-taking, FKIK ULM hopes that the graduates of Nurse Class XXII will be able to carry out the mandate of the profession with high competence, uphold humanitarian values, and make a real contribution to public health services.
