ULM Inaugurates 40 New Doctors and Specialists in the 94th Class of Doctors’ Oath
Banjarmasin, May 14, 2025 – Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) has once again made a proud achievement through the 94th Class of Doctors’ Oath-Taking and the Submission of Specialist Doctor Brevets held at the ULM Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) Theater Building, Wednesday (14/5). A total of 40 health workers were inaugurated in this activity, consisting of 30 new doctors and 10 specialist doctors from various fields.
The event took place solemnly and was attended by the leadership of the university, FKIK, teaching and network hospitals, and the families of the new doctors. This oath-taking marked the official transition of the graduates from the academic world to the world of practice and community service.
The representative of the graduates, dr. Tias Firdayanti, delivered a touching message in her speech.
“Today, 40 strong fighters have been inaugurated as professionals in the health sector. Remember, this is not the end, but the beginning of a journey to carry a title that must be accounted for. Let us remain humble, continue to learn, and provide the best service to the community,” he said.
Director of RSUD Ulin Banjarmasin, dr. Diauddin, M.Kes, in his speech expressed his hopes for the continued synergy between the hospital and ULM.
“Of course we hope that the cooperation between RSUD Ulin and FKIK ULM will continue and get better,” he said briefly but meaningfully.
Dean of FKIK ULM, Prof. Dr. dr. Syamsul Arifin, M.Pd., FISPH., FISCM, said that this activity was an important note in the academic achievements of FKIK ULM.
“Today we have successfully graduated 10 specialist doctors and 30 new doctors. Thus, throughout 2025, FKIK ULM has graduated 27 specialist doctors and 88 general practitioners. This is a joint achievement of the entire academic community,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of ULM, Dr. Iwan Aflanie, dr., M.Kes., Sp.F., SH, gave a deep moral and philosophical message in his speech.
“Be a doctor who not only treats the body, but also cares for humanity. Medical science without love is just a skill without a soul. Let us apply medical science sincerely and have an impact on society. Because now ULM must also become an impactful campus as per the motto of the Ministry of Education, namely Impactful Dikti Saintek,” he explained.
The oath-taking and brevet handover activities also strengthened FKIK ULM’s commitment to producing professional medical personnel who are not only academically superior, but also uphold the values ​​of humanity and devotion. Graduates are expected to become agents of change in improving the quality of health services, especially in South Kalimantan and other regions of Indonesia.
