Chinese New Year or Chinese New Year celebration is the most awaited moment for the Chinese people. Chinese New Year 2025 which coincides with January 29, 2025 celebrates the 2576th New Year in the lunar calendar or Kongzili calendar, a traditional Chinese calendar that symbolizes the cycle of life and time calculations based on the moon.

Chinese New Year celebrations are identical to something that is red, gold, and celebrated lively with family and relatives. More than just a change of year, Chinese New Year has a long and meaningful history, one of which is a moment of gratitude for what has been achieved in the previous year and asking for good luck for the coming year.

Chinese New Year 2025 is called the year of the Wooden Snake based on the Chinese calendar zodiac. The Year of the Wooden Snake 2025 is said to bring great luck to several zodiacs.

According to Alina Rubi in the book Chinese Horoscope 2025, the Wooden Snake 2025 is a symbol of transformation, intuition, and growth. The combination of snake and wood symbolizes renewal, allowing us to grow and adapt to life’s changes.

Every year, the fortune of each zodiac is influenced by the elements and characteristics of the zodiac of that year. The Wood Snake zodiac is known for its wisdom, charm, and expertise in planning the future.

There are several traditions that are usually carried out to celebrate Chinese New Year, including:

  1. Becoming a moment to gather with family
  2. The tradition of cleaning and decorating the house. This tradition is believed to be able to remove all bad energy that blocks the entrance of good luck. Therefore, this activity is often carried out one day before Chinese New Year.
  3. The tradition of distributing red envelopes
  4. Watching the Barongsai performance and lighting fireworks

Let’s welcome the Year of the Wood Snake with enthusiasm in the hope of bringing change for the better.
