ULM Reviews Temporary Locations for PSDKU in Balangan

Paringin – Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) through the Off-Campus Study Program (PSDKU) team conducted a review of several locations in Balangan Regency that will be used temporarily for student lectures on Tuesday (14/1/2025).

During the review, the ULM team was led by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Iwan Aflanie, dr. M.Kes., Sp.F., S.H. He explained that his team assessed various aspects during the review, especially related to facilities and infrastructure.

“The review process will continue. For more technical matters, the technical team will conduct further evaluations and coordinate with the local government,” he explained.

He also emphasized that the presence of ULM’s PSDKU in Balangan aims to support equitable education and improve the quality of human resources in the area.

In this activity, ULM was also accompanied by the Regional Secretary of Balangan, H. Sutikno, and the Assistant for Economic and Development Affairs of the Balangan Regional Secretariat, Ir. Tuhalus.

Tuhalus revealed that there are three target locations for the review, namely the former Paringin District Court, the area near SD IT Darul Fikri, and SKB Balangan.

“We have provided several alternative buildings that can be used temporarily before the construction of a new building for ULM’s PSDKU in the Banua Anam area in 2026,” he said after the review.

He hopes that the selected location will meet the requirements for the establishment of PSDKU in Balangan Regency.

“We want the quality of human resources (HR) to improve. That way, we will not continue to rely on the mining sector but can also develop other sectors,” he added.
