ULM Student Organization Discussion Forum, Efforts to Encourage IKU Achievements Through Student Development and Achievements
Banjarmasin – One of the 8 (eight) Main Performance Indicators of State Universities (IKU PTN) is that students gain experience outside the campus, one of which is through participation in competitions, both in academic and non-academic fields.
IKU is an indicator as well as a driver for PTN-PTN in Indonesia in improving their quality and competitiveness, as well as to ensure the achievement of national education goals. Therefore, Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) strives to encourage and facilitate its students to be able to gain experience outside the campus.
On Friday (6/12/2024), Lambung Mangkurat University held a Student Organization Discussion Forum activity at the Lecture Theater of the Faculty of Economics and Business. This activity discussed the topic of developing academic achievement and leadership and invited all student organizations in the ULM environment to attend as participants in the discussion forum.
This event was opened with remarks from the Vice Rector III for Student Affairs and Alumni, Dr. Muhammad Rusmin Nuryadin, S.E., M.Si. In his speech, he said that in the future ULM will try to participate in assisting and organizing the development of student organizations in the ULM environment.
“We organize it starting from recruitment, coaching, activities, so that it can produce future leaders. For that, we need to work together, carry out activities together,” he said.
This discussion forum, delivered by Dr. Rusmin aims to absorb aspirations and suggestions from the management of student organizations in the ULM environment. He said that the ULM student affairs department plans to create a student organization guidebook containing recruitment, coaching, and cadre formation procedures.
“We have succeeded in optimizing student achievement coaching, so hopefully 2025 will be the rise of ULM student organizations, because I am sure that ULM student organizations also have extraordinary talents and abilities to be developed,” he said.
This discussion activity was moderated by Vina Yulia Anhar, SKM., MPH, who is also the Supervisor of the Student and Alumni Unit in the Public Health study program, FKIK ULM.
