Signing of the MoU between the Ministry of Environment and Forestry with ULM and 4 universities
Jakarta – Rector of Lambung Mangkurat University Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Si signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between ULM and the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK). This MoU was signed directly by the Rector of ULM Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Si., A and Secretary General of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry Dr. Ir. Bambang Hendroyono, MM at the KLHK Office, Tuesday (20/02/2024). Apart from ULM, the MoU was signed between 4 universities, namely the Sumatra Institute of Technology, Mulawarman University, Bengkulu University, and Tanjungpura University.
The agreement reached on this occasion aims to implement the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, especially in the field of environment and forestry. “Hopefully this collaboration can create superior seeds that can develop and preserve the environment and forestry in the present and future.” concluded Dr. Bambang.
(1) The scope of this Memorandum of Understanding includes:
- Education Education and teaching in the field of environment and forestry;
- Study, publication and development of science in the field of environment and forestry;
- Socialization and counseling as part of community service in the environmental and forestry fields;
- Capacity building and support for Human Resources including implementation of the Independent Campus Learning Program; And
- Share data and information in accordance with policies and laws and regulations.
(2) The activities of this memorandum of understanding include environmental and forestry development. Cooperation may include programs and activities in the fields of: forestry planning and environmental management; conservation of natural resources and ecosystems; river watershed management and forest rehabilitation; sustainable forest management; social forestry and environmental partnerships; controlling climate change; enforcement of environmental and forestry laws; controlling pollution and environmental damage; management of waste, waste and toxic hazardous materials; standardization of environmental and forestry instruments; and counseling and human resource development.
