Lambung Mangkurat University Student Congress Inaugurates DPM and BEM Leaders for the 2024 Period
The Student Representative Council (DPM) and the Student Executive Body (BEM) of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) invite all University ORMAWA UKM, Faculty DPM and general invitees to the annual ULM Student Congress which will be held in Hall 2 of the Student Activity Center on January 17 to 19 2024. This event was held with an agenda of 4 plenary sessions. The session was chaired by a temporary Presidium, namely Presidium 1 M Ajmi Salam and Presidium 2 Aida Yanti. After the plenary session, the Handover of the Positions of General Chairperson and Deputy General Chairperson was carried out. The handover of positions took place in Hall 1 of SAC ULM Banjarmasin, witnessed by members of the ULM DPM and ULM BEM. M. Zainal Ilmi and Sarah Hasna’ Salsabila handed over the positions of DPM ULM 2023 to Hidayatullah H and Iqbal as General Chairperson and Deputy General Chairperson elected in 2024. Ahmad Nurhadi and Rizal Ramadhan also handed over their positions to Muhammad Syamsu Rizal as General Chairperson and Muhammad Fajrian as deputy The general chairman of BEM ULM was elected in 2024. The event closed with a message and evaluation of the 2023 period to the 2024 period
BEM is an intra-campus student organization which is an Executive Body at the University level. BEM is an institution that can accommodate the aspirations of students who have the enthusiasm to make changes in emotional, intellectual paradigms as well as religious values⁵. At ULM, BEM plays an important role in regulating and controlling organizational dynamics and student aspirations.
Meanwhile, DPM is a Student Legislative Body in Higher Education which is the highest institution that manages and controls the organizational dynamics and aspirations of students in Higher Education. DPM ULM acts as BEM supervisor.
These two organizations play an important role in facilitating and representing student aspirations, as well as contributing to the development and improvement of the quality of academic and non-academic life on campus.
