Friendly Visit from BPH Muhammadiyah University of Palangkaraya to ULM
Banjarmasin – Thursday, January 11 2024, Rector of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM), Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, SE., M.Si accompanied by the Vice Rector received a friendly visit from the Daily Advisory Board (BPH) of the Muhammadiyah University of Palangka Raya (UMPR). This visit was led directly by the Chair of BPH UMPR Prof. Bulkani who was accompanied by the Secretary of BPH UMPR Prof. Fathurrachman and his entourage.
In this meeting, many things were discussed regarding possible collaborations that could be carried out between ULM and UMPR. One of the main topics discussed was the plan to open a medical faculty or study program at Muhammadiyah University of Palangkaraya. It is hoped that the opening of the medical study program at UMPR will help and accelerate the availability of doctors in this province. With this collaboration, the two universities hope to bring blessings not only to the two educational institutions but also to the surrounding community.
UMPR is a private university located in Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan. This university was founded on September 24, 1987. UMPR has various faculties, including the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry, and others.
UMPR plans to open a Faculty of Medicine in 2024. This plan is supported by various preparations that are currently underway, including coordination with the Government, the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI), and all related parties. Apart from that, UMPR also prepares the necessary facilities and infrastructure, such as lecture buildings, large areas of land, as well as equipment and laboratories for student practice. As part of this effort, UMPR has built a Student Dormitory Building which can accommodate around 150 people.
