ULM Wins Public Agency Award “Towards Informative” in the 2023 Public Information Openness Award Event
Jakarta – Lambung Mangkurat University has again received an award from the Central Information Commission as a Public Body with the title “Towards Informative” at the 2023 Public Information Openness Award (KIP) in the Higher Education category. The award was handed over directly on Wednesday (20/12/2023) at the Mercure Kemayoran Ballroom Hotel, 5th floor.
Apart from the agenda of handing over the Anugerah KIP certificate, this event is also an opportunity to carry out monitoring and evaluation (Monev) of the 2023 Public Information Openness Award Event. Monitoring and Evaluation of Public Information Openness (Monev KIP) is carried out on 7 (seven) categories of Public Bodies, namely Ministries, State Institutions and Non-Ministerial Government Institutions, Non-Structural Institutions, Provincial Governments, State-Owned Enterprises, State Universities and Political Parties.
The KIP Award event held by the Central Information Commission in the last 3 (three) years has continued to experience an increase in the number of Public Bodies receiving the “Informative” qualification. Based on Monev carried out in 2021, there are 83 out of 337 Public Bodies, in 2022 there will be 122 out of 372 Public Bodies, and in 2023 there will be 139 out of 369 Public Bodies.
Progress in implementing public information disclosure is in line with the Central Information Commission’s efforts to improve the quality of public bodies. The Monev agenda is carried out as an instrument to ensure the implementation of Law Number 14 of 2008 concerning Openness of Public Information in Public Bodies is carried out well.
In order to improve the quality of Monev implementation, the Central Information Commission is holding a Note on the Implementation of Monitoring and Evaluation of Public Information Openness 2023 as well as providing Public Information Openness Awards to Public Bodies with the qualifications “Towards Informative” and “Quite Informative”.
Lambung Mangkurat University is one of the universities that regularly contributes to the Public Information Openness Award (KIP) event every year since 2018.
This year, ULM through the Public Relations subsection received the title as a Public Body in the Higher Education category with the qualification “Towards Informative”. This predicate has been achieved for 3 consecutive years so that improvements are needed in terms of information management and the quality of public information governance at ULM in order to improve ULM’s qualifications to become a Public Agency with “Informative” qualifications.
ULM’s award certificate as a Public Body with the qualification “Towards Informative” was submitted directly on this agenda and received by representatives from ULM Public Relations. It is hoped that the Anugerah KIP award received this year will provide enthusiasm and motivation for Lambung Mangkurat University to be able to continue to contribute and improve the quality of public information presented in the following years.
“Even though ULM still hasn’t received the title of ‘Informative’ Public Body, I am sure that ULM, especially Public Relations, can make improvements and better manage public information in the following year,” said the ULM Public Relations Sub-Coordinator.
