UPA Wetland Environment ULM Nets Input and Suggestions Ahead of the 10th World Water Forum 2024 International Conference
Banjarbaru – The Wetland Environment (LLB) Academic Support Unit (UPA) of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) in collaboration with the Kalimantan River Region Hall III, Directorate General of Water Resources, Ministry of PUPR, held Information Socialization and FGD Road to 10th World Water Forum 2024: Water for Shared Prosperity. This event was held at Novotel Banjarbaru, Friday (15/12/2023).
The implementation of this FGD is in the context of the 10th World Water Forum 2024 which will be held in Bali in May 2024. Apart from conducting outreach, this activity also aims to gather input, suggestions, issues and implementation that can be conveyed at the 10th World Water Forum 2024. which will come. This activity invited various related elements such as the South Kalimantan Regional Government, academics from several universities in South Kalimantan, BUMN, BUMD and private companies, as well as activists from several environmental communities, such as Meratus Geopark and the River Care Community.
Syahrial Riza Pahlevi S.T., M.T., a representative from the Ministry of PUPR said that through this socialization and FGD activity his party is committed to contributing and trying to ensure that programs and community aspirations ensure that stakeholders can be maximally involved. “Through this forum, it is hoped that the Islamic Book will have a dialogue to solve problems and find solutions to our problems related to water availability for the prosperity of all our communities,” he said.
Before the FGD started, this activity was filled with a Mini Talkshow and discussion with 2 presenters, namely Prof (Research). Dr. Ir. Muhammad Noor, MS., from the BRIN Food Crop Research Center and Dr. Ir. Ach. Rusdiansyah, MT., from HATHI South Kalimantan Province. This mini talk show and discussion agenda was moderated by a lecturer at the ULM Faculty of Engineering who is also the Head of UPA LLB ULM Dr. Eng Maya Amalia, S.T, M.Eng.
The event then continued with an FGD which was divided into several sub-themes, including:

- Water for Humans and Nature
- Disaster Risk Reduction and Management
- Governance, Cooperation and Hydro-diplomacy
- Sustainable Water Finance
- Knowledge and Innovation
