ULM Gives Appreciation to Hundreds of Outstanding Students at International, National and University Levels
Banjarbaru – As a form of appreciation and appreciation for the various achievements made by Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) students during 2023, ULM Vice Rector for Student and Alumni Affairs Dr. Muhamad Rusmin Nuryadin, SE., M.Si and the Academic and Student Affairs Bureau held a Student Achievement Appreciation Week at Lambung Mangkurat University at the Lambung Mangkurat University Auditorium Building, on Wednesday (13/12/2023).
The event was attended by ULM Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Sc., Dean and Vice Dean III at ULM, BSI Leaders, as well as students who won scholarships at ULM. There are 2 main agendas for this event, namely giving appreciation to outstanding students and delivering the 2024 Student Affairs Program. Giving appreciation to outstanding students is intended not only for achievers in 2023, but also for outstanding students in 2022. The appreciation given is grouped into 3 categories, namely university level appreciation, national higher education and non higher education level appreciation and international level appreciation.
University-level appreciation was given to 54 students who took part in the 2022 Student Arts Week, such as dangdut, seriosa and keroncong pop singing competitions. University level appreciation was also given to the 2023 Outstanding Students (Mapres) as many as 3 people, the National MIPA Olympiad (ON-MIPA) 12 people, the National University of Debating Campionship (NUDC) 3 people, the Indonesian Student Debate Competition (KDMI) 3 people and National Student MTQ at ULM level was 47 people.
DIKTI national level appreciation is given to students who succeed in making achievements in competitions organized by the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia. “This is a form of appreciation from ULM to these students as they try to make achievements and face various opponents in all universities in Indonesia,” said the Rector of ULM.
The appreciation at the National Higher Education level was given to, among others, 4 winners of the 2022 National Student Arts Week (PEKSIMINAS), namely 3rd place in the Monologue Competition, Women’s Dangdut Competition, Men’s Dangdut Competition and 1st Runner-up in the Painting Competition. Apart from that, there was also appreciation given to 2 ULM athletes who took part in POMNAS 2022, Abdidaya ORMAWA 2022 namely BEM Faculty of Medicine, Mapres 2023 1 person, NUDC 2023 from the Faculty of Law, KDMI 2023 Credited Institutional Judges from the Faculty of Law, and the ULM athletes who won medals at POMNAS 2023. The achievements of ULM athletes at POMNAS 2023 also succeeded in placing the province of South Kalimantan in 6th place with the most medals. ULM athletes managed to contribute 4 silver medals and 7 bronze medals at POMNAS 2023, while at the 2023 National Student Science Week (PIMNAS) ULM managed to win a silver medal.
“The achievements that have been achieved to date are very encouraging. “Hopefully the achievements that have been achieved can be a trigger to compete better in the following year and make ULM even more accomplished,” said Vice Rector Dr. Rusmin.
ULM continues to support facilities and infrastructure for students in order to support and facilitate activities that will bring ULM’s name further forward at regional, national and international levels. The Rector ‘s commitment to improving achievements in the field of student affairs was shown in line with the Education Revitalization Fund given to ULM in 2024.
“Through the Education Revitalization funds provided by the Ministry of Education and Culture amounting to 875 billion, this is one of the aims to boost academic achievement, research and community service achieved by the entire ULM academic community,” said the Rector.
The Vice Rector explained that this appreciation was not only given to students but also to accompanying lecturers and trainers. Not only that, this event also gives appreciation to the faculty who are most active in student activities. It is hoped that this Student Achievement Appreciation Week will increase the enthusiasm of students to achieve more achievements at ULM.
“The potential that ULM has is extraordinary as long as we work together, it can definitely be achieved. “ULM students are increasingly showing their class at national and international levels,” concluded the Rector.
