IKA FT ULM Holds Grand Reunion, Strengthens Friendship Between Alumni

Banjarmasin – The Faculty of Engineering (FT) Lambung Mangkurat University held a Grand Reunion across classes for 2 days on Saturday (4/11/2023) and Sunday (5/11/2023). The reunion with the theme “Rakat Takumpulan Bermanfaat Gasan Berataan” was held at the Faculty of Engineering, ULM Banjarmasin. Initiated by the FT ULM Civil Engineering Alumni Family Association (IKA), this event invited FT alumni from the first class in 1965 to the class of 1999.

Representing the Rector of ULM Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, SE., M.Sc., Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation and Public Relations Dr. Ir. Yusuf Azis, M.Sc., was present in person to give a speech and open the FT ULM Grand Reunion on Saturday (4/11/2023).

On the first day, the ULM FT Civil Engineering Grand Reunion event was filled with a ULM Civil Engineering IKA meeting which was attended by alumni. Meanwhile, on the second day, there was a leisurely walk and door prize distribution. The chairman of the FT ULM Grand Reunion committee, Didit Apriadi, also said that in this event the committee would give a ‘tie of love’ to staff and lecturers in Civil Engineering who had retired.

This grand reunion aims to connect and strengthen the relationship between FT ULM alumni.

“The hope is that there will be a friendly relationship. Then we will know better the condition of our classmates. “How are you doing, so we can help each other,” said Didit.

Apart from that, the Chair of the ULM Civil Engineering IKA, Mulyatno said that at this event he initiated a Civil Engineering IKA meeting to discuss the legalization of the IKA organization. This was done so that he could bring together alumni who were currently scattered everywhere.

“By forming IKA as a legal entity, we aim for social and health interests, considering that there are many seniors who are unproductive and need attention from juniors.” said Mulyatno.

He hopes that with the formation of the Civil Engineering IKA FT ULM legally and as a legal entity, it can bring together alumni, both senior and junior, so that alumni can help each other.
