ULM Hosts the XVth Congress of the Association of Indonesian Anatomists (PAAI) 2023
Banjarmasin – Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) is hosting the XVth Congress and 52nd Anniversary of the Association of Indonesian Anatomists (PAAI) 2023. The agenda will be held simultaneously with the 4th Lambung Mangkurat Medical Seminar (LUMMENS) for 4 days from 26-29 October 2023 located at the Galaxy Hotel Banjarmasin.
Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Dr. Iwan Aflanie, dr. M.Kes., Sp.F., S.H., was present representing the Rector of ULM to give a speech and open the activity. He expressed his appreciation to all the committee and participants involved in implementing this event. The holding of this seminar is a form of scientific activity and ULM’s support for the development of science, especially in the field of wetlands. “Hopefully researchers throughout Indonesia can research wetlands, and realize anatomical science and knowledge related to wetlands, hopefully they can collaborate together,” he said.
Dr. Dr. Oski Illiandri, M.Kes., as Chair of the Committee, said that this PAAI Congress was the first time it had been held in Kalimantan. The activities carried out at the XV PAAI Congress consisted of Pre-Symposium Workshops, National Seminars and Scientific Presentations. This activity also collaborates on publications with scientific journals so that this activity is expected to increase the number of scientific publications from various educational institutions in Indonesia.
Dean of FK ULM Dr. Dr. Istiana, M.Kes., said that the development of anatomical science is very important considering the great contribution of anatomical science to medical science. “Through this activity, it is hoped that the participants can increase their knowledge in order to prevent the integration of basic science and collaborate and provide innovative solutions in order to bring the name of PAAI to our society and system,” said Dr. Palace.
Chairman of the PAAI Executive Board (PB) dr. Ahmad Aulia Jusuf, Ph.D., said that holding the XV PAAI Congress aims to be a forum for sharing experiences, discussing to open up opportunities for collaboration, as well as providing scientific presentation experience for researchers and students in the fields of anatomy-histology, anthropology and biomedicine. He said that the ULM Faculty of Medicine was chosen as the organizing partner for the XV PAAI Congress because the Medical Study Program, Undergraduate Program of the Faculty of Medicine, Lambung Mangkurat University (PSKPS FK ULM) is one of the educational institutions in South Kalimantan which has an important role in the development of science, especially in the fields of Medicine and Health.
The implementation of the XVth Congress as well as the 52nd PAAI Anniversary and 4th LUMMENS 2023 raised the theme “The Role of Gut-Brain Axis in Indonesian Human Development”. The scope of study is Anatomy, Physiology, Histology, Biochemistry, Molecular Cell Biology, Microbiology, Parasitology and Infection, Anthropology, Medical Education, Pharmacology, Immunology, Nursing, Radiology, Midwifery, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, Acupuncture, Wetland Biosciences , and Clinical Medicine.
