ULM Inaugurate 3 Professors, Pursue the Target of 100 ULM Professors

Banjarmasin – University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) held an Open Session of the ULM Senate with the agenda of Professor Inauguration on Monday (26/6/2023) at the ULM Rectorate Hall, Banjarmasin. In this agenda, ULM Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Sc., confirmed 3 (three) Professors.

Prof. Dr. Ifrani, S.H, M.H., was inaugurated as Professor of Law, Prof. Mirza Satria Buana, S.H, M.H, Ph.D., was inaugurated as Professor of Comparative Constitutional Law & Human Rights, and Prof. Dr. – Eng. Ir. Yulian Firmana Arifin, M.T. as Professor of Civil Engineering.

“Until today, we have succeeded in inaugurating 79 professors,” said the Rector in his remarks.

In his remarks, the Rector also said that in the near future there would be 6 professors to be appointed. With the addition of professors at ULM, it is hoped that ULM’s competitiveness will increase at the national level. The number of professors owned by ULM can be a big capital to improve the quality of the implementation of the Higher Education Tri Dharma process within ULM.

Until now, the Rector said, there were around 40 professor proposals being processed at the Ministry of Education and Culture. He hopes that the proposal can be immediately processed and approved. It is his great hope that he will be able to complete the target of 100 ULM Professors which had been planned since the leadership of the previous chancellor.

“By increasing the number of professors, it will be easier for us to develop study programs, especially study programs at the master’s and doctoral levels,” he said.

Currently ULM has 7 doctoral programs and dozens of other postgraduate programs. The addition of professors confirmed by ULM certainly does not only increase numbers, but can also make it easier for ULM to develop and improve the quality of science and study programs at ULM.
