ULM Inaugurates 96 New Healthcare Workers at the Professional Oath-Taking Ceremony for Doctors, Specialists, and Nurses
Banjarmasin – The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) once again achieved a milestone by inaugurating 96 new healthcare workers, consisting of doctors, specialists, and nurses, during the Professional Oath-Taking Ceremony held on Wednesday (10/15/2025) at the ULM Banjarmasin Multipurpose Building.
The event was also attended by ULM Vice Rector IV, Dr. Ir. Yusuf Azis, M.Sc., faculty leaders, lecturers, and families of the graduates, who emotionally witnessed the sacred moment.
This event was carried out based on three Rectorial Decrees of Lambung Mangkurat University:
- Rectorial Decree Number 5715/UN8/TU.00.01/2025 concerning the graduation of students in the Medical Professional Education Study Program, with 82 graduates.
- Rector’s Decree No. 5713/UN8/TU.00.01/2025 concerning the graduation of students in the Nursing Professional Education Study Program, with one graduate.
- Rector’s Decree No. 6012/UN8/TU.00.01/2025 concerning the graduation of students in the Specialist Study Program, with 13 graduates.
Thus, a total of 96 graduates were officially inaugurated and took their professional oath as healthcare workers ready to serve the community. This was recognized by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, ULM, Prof. Dr. dr. Syamsul Arifin, M.Pd., FISPH., FISCM, as the program with the largest number of graduates.
In his remarks, the Dean of FKIK ULM expressed his congratulations and appreciation to all graduates for their hard work and dedication throughout their education. He advised the graduates to uphold the values of professionalism and integrity in carrying out their duties.
“I remind you that the profession of doctor and nurse is not an easy one. There will be challenges, difficulties, and pressures. But I believe you have the ability and strength to face them,” said the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK).
He further emphasized that the professional oath taken is not merely a formality, but a profound moral commitment.
“With this oath, you are not only making a promise to the community, but also a promise to yourself and your family to be professional doctors and nurses who always prioritize the interests of patients,” he added.
The oath-taking ceremony symbolizes the beginning of the dedication of the FKIK ULM graduates to the community, nation, and state. With renewed enthusiasm, ULM’s doctors, specialists, and nurses are expected to provide the best healthcare services and uphold the good name of their alma mater by serving the community.
